Domestic Violence Murder Conference - London

This conference organised by Policy Spotlight was intended for those working in the area of domestic violence and in particular with the issue of homicide associated with it.

The Chair for the day was Nick Bolton, Director of Policy Spotlight who briefly gave an overview of the day. Unfortunately one of the speakers, Assistant Chief Constable, Jim Gamble of the National Crime Squad was unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.

Domestic Violence Policy Development

Cath Alborough (Doncaster Women’s Aid) and I attended this one-day conference, which left us with a sense of disappointment and missed opportunity by the organisers in bringing anything new to the table. There was little time allocated for debate or discussion and no workshop inclusion. The audience appeared to be mainly from statutory organisations and those representing court users. There were four domestic violence forums represented and of these Liverpool and Northumbria sent 12 delegates the remaining two sending three delegates. A total of 97 delegates attended.
