This Work Book has been produced through consultation with key stakeholders within Doncaster NHS Primary Care Trust, Safer Doncaster Partnership, Doncaster Adult Safeguarding Board, Doncaster Safeguarding Children Board, Doncaster Domestic Violence Working Party and users or those representing the views of users accessing Domestic Abuse services.

A survey of support services in West Dunbartonshire

In 2005 the Scottish Executive adopted a wider national agenda for tackling other forms of male violence against women as well as domestic abuse. In 2006 WDDAP’s Strategic Implementation Group agreed to change the Partnership’s name to the West Dunbartonshire Violence against Women Partnership (WDVAWP) in response to national developments and WDVAWP launched its new Strategy and Action Plan in November 2006.

This Strategy for West Dunbartonshire retains a firm commitment to supporting women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse.

Prevalence Study Elder Abuse 2007

Following a submission by the AEA in 2003/04 to the HM Government Health Select Committee, application was made to Comic Relief to fund a prevalence study into elder abuse. This study was undertaken by King’s College London who has attained international recognition and the highest quality rating for this type of work.

Safety & Justice

The Doncaster Domestic Violence Working Party is a multi agency organisation consisting of statutory and voluntary agencies working together to address the issues of domestic violence in the Doncaster Metropolitan Borough area.
